Step 8: Administration - Searching for Documents

Step 8: Administration - Searching for Documents

For Jenny to use her documents, she needs to be able to retrieve them from Radix DM.  To do this, she once again needs to use the program known as the Grabber.

To start using the Radix DM Grabber, simply select Start > Programs > Radix DM > Radix DM Client from the Start Menu.  The Radix DM Client program will then appear, appearing as a floating Radix icon on the desktop.  Right-click or double click on this icon and then select the option 'Search'.  The Search program will then appear.

To find a document, enter a value to search for in the text box Search.  We can search for correspondence document just saved, so for our example enter the text "1176".   Because only one library group has been created, there is no need to alter the selection under Library Groups, so just click Search.

The set of fields with values that match the search query are then listed under Fields with Results.  In our example, one document has been found where there is a match on the 'Title' field, so we can click on 'Title (1)' to display a list of documents that match our search in the centre panel.  Double click on a row in this panel to open the document on this row.
