Step 7: Administration - Saving a Document

Step 7: Administration - Saving a Document

Now that Jenny has done all the work to set up a library group for her correspondence, she is interested in entering them into the Radix DM database.  To do this, she needs to start the Radix DM Grabber.

To start using the Radix DM Grabber, simply select Start > Programs > Radix DM > Radix DM Client from the Start Menu.  The Radix DM Client program will then appear, appearing as a floating Radix icon on the desktop.

To save a document, simply drag it from the desktop or Windows Explorer over to the Radix DM Grabber icon and release.  For our tutorial, any file will suffice.  The Document Save window will then appear.

Because only one library group has been created, there is no need to alter the selection in Select a Library Group.  Document ID is a read only field which is created and maintained by Radix DM.  Every document has a Title.  The Document Save Window will automatically populate Title with the name of the file being saved, but this text can be changed before saving.

Under Document ID and Title you will find all the fields that have been added to this library group.  In our example, there is only one field, 'Custom Name'.  Enter values for any fields as desired then click Save.
