Introduction to Radix DM Extranet

Some of the concepts used in this document are discussed below.

Searches allow Radix DM Extranet administrators to define a set of documents that are accessible to users and the rules that govern this accessibility.  Each Extranet Search links to a Favourite Search in Radix DM that has been shared.  For more information about Searches, see the section Searches.

Profile

Profiles are a way of organising and collating Searches.  A Profile can contain any number of Searches (and Searches can be assigned to more than one Profile).  The set of all documents returned by these Searches is available to users in Radix DM Extranet who have access to that Profile.  In addition, Users in Radix DM Extranet who are designated as "Managers" can be notified of activity by other users when a document in a Profile is uploaded to or downloaded from Radix DM.  For more information about Profiles, see the section Profiles.

Using Radix DM Extranet

The primary Radix DM Extranet window is made up of a number of different screen elements.  The terms defined in this section will be referred to during the rest of this document.

This panel on the left side of the screen consists of three components: a list of the Profiles and associated Searches at the top of the page in an area called the Available Searches Pane; a number of Navigation Tabs that control functionality and a list of Active User Sessions (visible to Radix DM Extranet Managers only).

Navigation Tabs

There are four Navigation Tabs which break Radix DM Extranet functionality into a number of sub sections.  Selecting one of these Navigation Tabs brings up a list of Menu Items which relate to functions within the system.  The four Navigation Tabs are:
