Radix Software provides a template for Microsoft Word that enables documents to be signed and password protected (RadixSigning.dot). This template can be found at the following location on the Radix DM Support Site: Radix DM Signing Macro.
The signing consists of a watermark of the word "SIGNED" that is placed
on every page of the document. There are two types of password that can be applied to a document: a read only password and a full access password. Once users have entered a password to the read only document, they will be able to view the document in read only mode. If a document has been signed with the full access document, users will not be able to view the contents of the document at all until the password is entered.
Setting Up The Template
To use the functions available in the RadixSigning.dot template, please add the file to the Microsoft Word Startup folder for each user account on each machine. There are two ways to identify this folder:
Office XP/2003:
Click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the File Locations tab.
Office 2007/2010/2013/2016:
Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Word Options.
Click Advanced.
Under General, click File Locations.
The folder where the template should be copied is the location that is listed for Startup.
Modifying the Template
The default supplied password for both functions in the template is the word "fish". Customers who use this template should change it by editing the appropriate macro in the template to the password of their choosing. Radix Support Staff will be happy to discuss this further with you if required.
